Promo Video for G & H Division

Aurora Productions (Uni production company) are making a promotional video for Lancashire Police’s G and H Division. This will be our last University project together. We have worked on 5 projects so far over the last year and a bit but this is our first promotional video.
So far we have interviewed the Fire Arms department and shot some footage to cut away to. We are filming CSI, Crime Stoppers and Wildlife this week and that’s less than half the departments. So we have quite a lot of work to do before the deadline at the end of March.
SMS Video Launched

Last week the Lancashire Fire and Police launched the SMS text service. The video was shown on a 40″ plasma screen and received positive feedback. “It looked brilliant!”.
It took a fair few days work to get it looking right. After lot’s of experimenting I found that using the Quicktime animation codec when exporting from FCP/AE gets best results. It is a little more memory hungry than Photo jpg but has proved itself to be worth it.
It shall be on the clients website soon.
SMS Emergency for Deaf People

My good friend Dave and I have got involved in a project to make a short educational video to promote the new SMS emergency text for deaf people. We will be making a fire specific video for the Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service and it’s going to involve everything from location shooting to green screen work.
All very exciting!!! Although apparently they don’t have poles anymore 
RFYL Nearly Done

The RFYL site’s back has been broken and the site will definitely be up soon. All that’s needed now is more content to give people even more of a reason to go there.
It was good fun making the site and I just used html, css and php for the guestbook. From this I have noted that CMS rules and shall be the way forward as soon as I’ve figured it out a bit more.
